A tradition like no other…The tournament was inspired by a former Mt. Prospect Park District Commissioner Roland C. Becker. Roland served on the park district board for 8 years and was instrumental in the park district’s original purchase of the Mt. Prospect Golf Club. The historic championship started in August 1974 and has continued for the past 44 years. It is the longest running annual golf event in the history of Mt. Prospect. The championship has always offered a competitive field for all levels of golfers and includes all ages from 4 to 90+. The field of past club champions have gone on to compete in both state and national championships, as well as receive many college golf scholarships. A championship awards night and dinner is held the closing Sunday of the week long event.
